The Community Memory project in Berkeley California installs terminals in four locations throughout the Berkeley area, including a laundromat and record store. These terminals allow users to post messages, throughs, for-sale ads, and other online social postings. It is literately underneath the community bulletin board in various locations, fulfilling a similar function. It is considered to be one of the first general-access Bulletin Board Systems, although its functionality is different than the dial-up by-modem Bulletin Board that Ward Christensen and Randy Suess create five years later.
