Steve Klingler, the general manager for a few years, had his head up his ass. David Terry was nice enough, although he should have recognized my programming skills (I have a BS in CS) and brought me onto his team. Oh well, whatever. Joe Robinson, the sales manager, was ok, although he should have been a bit more down to earth. Alif Ambler, a fellow support engineer, was a crazy guy. Scott Carpenter, another fellow support person, acted as if he had something up his ass as well, but perhaps for good reason. I wish him success. So, in conclusion, wherever you are, Fred Clark & Steve Klingler, you can go to hell. David Terry, I don't care where you go, although I might note that I left the Church you went to work for and am now an anti of that Church. Joe Robinson, you were mostly ok, but just chill out once in a while. Alif & Scott, I hope you're doing ok - just try & keep things out of your asses and be as considerate as possible, and you'll be ok. Here are the morals I take away from my time with CDC: Put consideration for others above your selfish and shallow goals. Don't sell yourself short by working for the first company that grabs you up, at least don't work there for long. The above statements are solely my personal opinions. Nevertheless, it feels so good to say them publicly. I realize that people are people, but sometimes when you work for a company you don't feel free to tell the other people just how you feel about them. For such a low paying job which was so far below my own abilities, I should have been willing to tell them where to get off, but not everyone there was an ass I have to admit. By the way, I just created a new club for former CDC employees. Feel free to join if you wish at: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/pcboardformeremployeesMessage ----------------- From: Edward Cowling (edward@genghis0.demon.co.uk) Subject: Re: Comments from a former employee of CDC Newsgroups: alt.bbs.pcboard, alt.bbs View this article only Date: 1999/02/14 In article <36c6aeb6.9497021@news.ieighty.net>, anon5cd1@cyberspace.org writes > >As a former employee of CDC, I would like to make the >following statements of personal opinion: > >Fred Clark drove the company down by living high off the >profits while doing nothing to help the company grow. > I hate this kind of crap. The guy fed and clothed you for years and you now stab him in the back. Ok I might gripe in private about former employers, but IMHO when you accept someone's pay cheque you owe them a bit of public loyalty. -- Edward Cowling ---------------- From: Scott Lewis (sglewis@shell.monmouth.com) Subject: Re: Comments from a former employee of CDC Newsgroups: alt.bbs.pcboard, alt.bbs View this article only Date: 1999/02/14 : I hate this kind of crap. Even more important -- most offices have that one guy who notices that EVERYONE has a problem. Everyone's out to get me... or everyone's a jerk... or nobody treats me kind... That guy never notices that it's not EVERYONE around him that stinks, but rather himself with the problems. Kind of like the driver who realizes that EVERYBODY in the world is a bad driver but him. I act that way sometimes. Mostly, I realize I'm an aggressive, overbearing driver, and it's not really everyone else's fault.Message 4 in thread From: Daryl Hunt (dhunt@colwest.com) Subject: Re: Comments from a former employee of CDC Newsgroups: alt.bbs.pcboard, alt.bbs View this article only Date: 1999/02/14 Edward Cowling wrote: > In article <36c6aeb6.9497021@news.ieighty.net>, anon5cd1@cyberspace.org > writes > > > >As a former employee of CDC, I would like to make the > >following statements of personal opinion: > > > >Fred Clark drove the company down by living high off the > >profits while doing nothing to help the company grow. > > > I hate this kind of crap. Maybe it's because I was on the beta team and Clark Industries treated me quite well. I have to admit, it was a huge surprise when one day the site was gone as were the email addresses. But I still see nothing wrong with having a support site for ex-Clark Industries folks. I am retired Air Force. You should hear us gripe and moan about what we use to be part of. But that's okay. We just don't want you to do the same unless you, too, were a member. I paid for that right as did millions of other service people. And this person paid for the same right with Clark Industries. Think how bitter you would be if one day you went to work and the locks were changed, the electricity was off and no note is even on the front door. I think the Woolworth people experienced that little tidbit. I would think that it would entitle an ex-employee the right to be more than a bit bitter and sound off once in awhile. The alternative just might be to go postal. Better they sound off I would think. Daryl -- http://www.colwest.com/bbs.htm Free games, online fun for all. Oh well, whatever. A piece of paper don't mean shit. You can buy the paper, you can't buy the knowledge. It's people with the holy'er then thou attitude that cause the malfunctions. I personally will not write a piece of code I can't be proud to say I wrote. Be it good or bad. When a person cops the attitude of BS's, then they need stop and relook at their own code. : Alif Ambler, a fellow support engineer, was a crazy guy. That's the type of thinking that makes the best programs. You have to think way off the norm to write something different. Those that think and act like their taught in school, end up writing the code that puts the dot on the screen for MSoft. It's the "crazy" people that write the code that make cars drive themselves. : people just how you feel about them. Some coward who "claims" to have worked for CDC blasts nearly everyone who he worked with, yet doesnt have the balls to say who he is. Isnt it a little late for all this crap? CDC has been DOA for quite awhile now. Move on with your life. Im sure the company paid you well (assuming you even worked there) and supported you for years. But its gone now and there really isnt a need for a CDC bashing forum on the net. Its over. Let it go. No one wants to hear a group of crybabies bashing their former boss. If they did, Ive had one who was worse then Satan who stiffed his loyal employees $40,000 in back pay and expenses I could talk about for days. But, like you should do, I moved on. Tho I hated my boss, he gave me the experience, training, and willpower to make me a better person and land me a better job.
